Steve Stricker, an American professional golfer, is lately making waves. After finishing second in the US Senior Open earlier this month, he is again giving tough competition to his fellow golfers at the Kaulig Companies Championship, formerly known as Bridgestone Senior Players Championship.

Regardless of his age, the 56-year-old golfer is showing the rest of the world how a person’s enthusiasm can lead to success in their chosen industry. It can take some time but one will get there eventually. His senior golf performances say a great deal about his character. Let’s find out more.

This year Stricker has already secured four wins as well as quite a few top-three finishes. He also surpassed a famous record by Tiger Woods. And he is keeping up the good work at the Firestone Championship South Course where he is already in T5 position after two rounds.

In reality, there are not many golfers over the age of 50 who are doing as brilliantly as Stricker. The 2001 World Golf Championship Winner didn’t have so much success in his early years as a golfer. However, things have changed for him in his 40s and 50s as his skills appear to have improved a great deal. And now, he is proving to everyone that “age is just a number.”

Recently, the American golfer got into a conversation with GolfWeek where he shared his sport journey. He mentioned that he was not in a good spot back in the day. He also revealed he had to work on his swing a great deal.  “I’ve really stuck with those same principles, those same things that I worked on 17 years ago, 18 years ago,” Stricker said. “I still do the same things today. I think that’s why the consistency has happened through these last 18 years or so, because I still do the same things that I worked on back then,” he added.

With that level of confidence, it’s no wonder he is doing so well on the course in the last few years, especially in senior golf. As compared to his 20s and 30s, presently he is on another level as a result of his high level of dedication.
