The final round of the championship was very thrilling to watch. The competition was fierce, as everyone wanted to be in the first position on the leaderboard but sadly could not. It was Lucas Glover who found his way to the top after forcing a playoff with Cantlay.
The playoff was indeed an unfortunate one for the 8X PGA Tour champion; he came out of it as a runner-up instead of a winner. After the tournament was over, the 31-year-old sat down with the media and discussed his mistakes and future plans for the remaining FedEx Cup events. The golfer said that he “paid the price” for the bad tee shot in the playoff that pushed him down by one position.
Though Cantlay could not win, he did not lose hope or get disheartened. He decided to pave his way into the upcoming weeks. The PGA Tour star said that he is in a good position right now and that he is playing really well at the moment. He shared that he is looking forward to the upcoming two big weeks. The golfer also spoke about how he is really grateful for the opportunity to compete in the BMW Championship and the Tour Championship.
When talking about his game plan for Olympia Fields, he said that he likes that golf course and enjoys it a lot. Though the golfer did pay the price for his bad shot, what actually made his shot bad? Let us find out.

Glover shot a 20-foot par putt, a 30-foot bogey putt, and a 12-foot par putt in the final six holes of the last round and put 1 under 69 on the board. His score forced a playoff with Cantlay. The playoff went south for Cantlay when he hit a shot that was a little less than perfect. His shot found its way into the water. On the contrary, Glover’s shot found the fairway, and he two-putted for par.
Though Lucas Glover is having a good run with two continuous straight victories at the PGA Tour, Cantlay believed he still could win if he hadn’t made a bad tee shot. When asked about what happened towards the end, the golfer said that he paid the price for a bad tee shot. He said that he hooked the ball a little too much off the tee and hit a bad shot.
