Brooks Koepka's date night fashion—bold statement or a complete miss? What's your take?

Due to the nature of the sport, golfers tend to dress somewhat conservatively. Unlike NBA or NFL players, they usually do not choose to stand out in their aesthetic choices. Of course, some golfers do not follow the pattern, like John Daly or Bryson DeChambeau and his flat cap. LIV Golf player, Brooks Koepka is someone who does fall into the pattern, but you would not think so going by his recent appearance with his wife Jena Sims at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Sims, who is an actress and a model, recently shared photos of herself and her husband where Brooks Koepka was styling a rather boxy black suit. Jena Sims was wearing a black dress, and they both were pictured on the red carpet of TIFF. The film festival has been ongoing since the 5th of September and the couple walked the red carpet to watch the premiere of Ben Stiller’s ‘Nutcrackers’.

Jena Sims is an active member of the film fraternity, having been in movies such as Last Vegas and Dead Reckoning. She and two-time US Open champion Brooks Koepka tied the knot in 2021 after dating for several years (they are said to have met in 2015) and they have a one-year-old child named Crew.

Although Brooks Koepka is a force to be reckoned with on the course, he is not someone who is known to experiment when it comes to clothing and fashion. Jena Sims, on the other hand, is a model and does tend to be more fashionable in her outfit choices. The stark change in the fit of his clothes drew some mockery from commenters, while Sims’ chic look garnered praise.

Brooks Koepka brutally trolled for his “suit”

“Brooks got that NBA 2003 draft suit onone commenter wrote, referring to the style of suits that tall athletes in the NBA wore during the early 2000s. The look is most fondly remembered as the NBA Draft of 2003 style, which featured extremely baggy suits worn by Draftsmen such as LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, and Dwyane Wade. It was an era where Eminem brought rap and baggy pants to the mainstream, resulting in a baggy-ing of all clothes. Several commenters shared the sentiment. One jokingly wrote, And for the 1st pick of the 2002 NBA Draft the Houston Rockets select Brooks Koepka”.

As Brooks Koepka was wearing a suit that did not seem to be fitted for him, some commenters assumed that he was not wearing the right size. The boxy look harkens back to an era when it was worn in street fashion and now some formal clothing has followed the silhouette. Tailors are also rather conservative when styling and tend to emphasize the wearer of the suit and not the suit itself. Due to this contradiction seen in Koepka’s outfit, one commenter wrote, “Pls get Brooks a tailor. Another shared a similar thought and said, Brooks needs a new tailor!”.

Of course, the couple is very good-looking, one being an elite athlete and the other a model and actress. Their fans praised their visible affection towards each other on the red carpet and their styling as well. It’s the way Brooks looking at you in the video !!!”, one commenter wrote, referring to Brooks Koepka lovingly gazing at his wife in the post. Another wrote, “Stunning!!! So classic and beautiful!”.
