Is LIV Golf under the radar again? Greg Norman & the Saudi-based promotion has always been criticized for deflecting from the traditional form of the sport and trying to bring too many changes. Despite that, fans have enjoyed watching the events of the PIF-funded league thanks to the exciting stars it features.
Many of those stars have previously dominated the PGA Tour before getting lured by Greg Norman to make a big-money move. The preposterous compensation offered to the likes of Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, Phil Mickelson, & Jon Rahm have been the highlight of their careers.
Not only do the players get to enjoy a lighter schedule, but they get to do it for much more money and many more benefits. That might have gotten into their heads as some of them have started to believe that they have started to draw in the audience to watch them play in LIV Golf. While most in the golf community might not believe that, Brandel Chamblee certainly does.

Often a critic of outgoing commissioner, Greg Norman‘s LIV Golf, Chamblee was in the news again for his comments about the star power of the likes of Jon Rahm. As shared by @NUCLRGOLF on their X account, the post kicked off with, “🚨🗣️⛳️ ‘SELF DELUSION’ — In an end of year reflection on the current state of the pro game, Golf Channel analyst Brandel Chamblee sounds off on Jon Rahm and says other golfers who left the PGA TOUR may not be all that compelling,” as it continued to share the expert’s quotes.
The caption continued with Chamblee’s comment, “‘This past year, after Jon Rahm’s defection to LIV in late 2023, the dominos were supposed to fall, forcing the hand of the PGA Tour, a deal between the two tours was presumed to be imminent. Now as a golfer, Rahm has many talents but none seem to exceed his gift for self-delusion…'” He was focused on discussing the impact Jon Rahm has had on the PIF/PGA Tour merger situation.
The Golf Channel Analyst further added, “‘…The PGA Tour / LIV split has been a constant topic of debate and many point to the absence of the poached stars – DeChambeau, Koepka and Rahm – as the primary reason for the decline in TV ratings….,'” suggesting that the debate about the drop in TV ratings of the PGA Tour is due to the loss of the 3 major stars is false. To further clarify his stance, he stated, “‘This may be partly true, but if those players were really that compelling, the LIV finale, televised on CW and finishing in prime time on the east coast with Rahm winning, would have drawn more than the whopping audience of 89,000…,'” hinting that if Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, & Jon Rahm were the reason PGA Tour saw a drop in viewership then LIV Golf would have benefitted from that with much more competitive ratings, which was not the case.

Lastly, @NUCLRGOLF added, “Do you agree with Brandel?“, to start the dialogue with their followers. Let’s see what the community had to say about Brandel Chamblee’s comments.
Brandel Chamblee is “Not worth reading”
The critical views of Brandel Chamblee were bound to welcome negative backlash from fans. A pretend account of the PGA Tour, @PGATUOR said, “Not worth reading more than a paragraph of what this clown says,” suggesting that Chamblee’s opinions are irrelevant. “Brandel’s opinions are stale.”, said @gretz4thewin, possibly stating that the community has moved on from the kind of views the Golf Analyst holds. @wrandonbilcox thinks “Old man yells at clouds,” hinting that no one agrees with Chamblee’s statement.

@BurandoHarudi imagined, “I wish I could live in a world where I didn’t have to hear what Brandel Chamblee thinks,” suggesting that they don’t care about the Golf Channel employee’s opinions. @flyhsuk went on a bit of a tirade as they said, “Has anyone ever in history of time agreed with Chamblee and his rants regarding this subject? The guy is so blinded by hate and bile he can’t see what the best is for anyone but himself and his own ego / that of Jay Monahan,” stating that Brandel is delusional because of his hatred for LIV Golf and his opinions aren’t unbiased. @ItsAlwaysGraham reposted @NUCLRGOLF’s post with their own views saying, “Antonio Browm needs consider Mr. Chamblee for a nomination for the 2025 “Dumbass Cracker of the Year?,” suggesting that Chamblee needs to be rewarded for the illogical statements he makes.
