He is the ex-POTUS. He is a businessman. And fascinatingly, he is also a golfer. Fans all around the world constantly keep an eye out for the athlete Donald Trump to poke his head out. Well, that is exactly what happened during the presidential debate when Joe Biden and the former President had a banter concerning their golf game. The two presidential candidates were at each other’s throats owing to a dispute that arose between them about each other’s handicap. Donald Trump, consequently, alluded to his achievements while retorting back, “I just won two club championships, not even senior… Two regular club championships. To do that you have to be quite smart and you have to be able to hit the ball a long way, and I do it.” He also pointed out how much of a better shape he was in when compared to 25 years ago.

Following the hot debate, DeChambeau came forward to suggest a fun way to end the whole bickering. He came forward to say, “Let’s settle this whole handicap debate, I’ll host the golf match on my YouTube @realDonaldTrump @JoeBiden.” Although the fans were quite entertained by the whole dramatic exchange, they didn’t shy away from expressing their minds when it came to the recent tweet praising Trump.

Netizens take turns to issue jabs at Donald Trump

A video of Donald Trump on the course went viral back in 2023. He was spotted taking a gimme on the greens despite the distance between the ball and the hole being long enough to miss. This, in turn, cast much doubt on the so-called ‘unmissable short-putt’ as the former president casually made ‘easy work on the greens.’ This led to many in the community accusing him of cheating. The trend continued as a couple of followers followed suit: “He cheats at golf,” and “Nonsense! Reagan and Eisenhower were much better athletes. Trump cheats constantly at golf and claims “give me’s” when he’s still on the rough. As he is ranked the worst US president by 154 presidential historians/scholars, he’s also not nearly as good a golfer as he pretends. Actually, his whole life is pretends.” The second user also took to refer to the likes of Ronald Reagan and Dwight D. Eisenhower as well, both of whom had a lifelong passion for sports.

Geralt Ford was a football star who played the sport at the University of Michigan back in the 1930s. He was even a member of the 1935 collegiate all-star team and received contract offers from the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers. A couple of users, consequently commented while hinting at the same, “Wrong. Ford played D1 football and had pro offers. Trump is a legend in his own mind and those of his addled followers,” and “Umm, Ford was an all-American center in college and had multiple offers to play in the NFL.”

While playing at the Trump National Golf Club in LA, Donald Trump was spotted taking a shot, which resulted in the ball soaring toward a shrub on the right side of the hole. A commentator, while observing the same, stated, “Trump’s shooting right now; let’s see if he can hit the green… Oh, he shanked it,” resulting in the iconic Shankelson moment of the ex-POTUS. Similarly, a follower commented on his gameplay as well; “The former president is the worst athlete ever.”

There sure was a lot of dislike directed at former President Donald Trump and his golfing skills. What do you think? Do you feel he was the best golfer that America has ever seen come on as president, or do you feel otherwise?
