It has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride for Collin Morikawa in 2023. Although his Ryder Cup stint couldn’t ensure the title for his team on European soil, he managed to emerge victorious at the Zozo Championship that took place a while back at the Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club.

Following the same, the pro was forced to withdraw from the much-anticipated Netflix Cup that saw him being paired up with Pierre Gasly, from the BWT Alpine F1 Team. However, things now seem to turn around for the American once again as he finally gets a chance to experience what his ex-partner’s sport is all about, courtesy of a $682 million giant!

The American Ryder Cup star was forced to exit from the live sports event due to personal reasons stemming from health concerns. However, he didn’t let this unfortunate separation keep him apart from the exciting sport as the golfer was spotted getting a shot at experiencing F1 up close a little while back.

A post was uploaded to the official Instagram handle of the 6X PGA Tour champ showcasing his love for the sport. He was seen posing in front of the McLaren team’s racing car in their cockpit as the rest of the team was engaged in their own work.

The snap was uploaded by the 2X major winner with the caption, “High speed, high energy…very similar to golf,” all the while expressing his gratitude to the $682 million giants. Although he couldn’t participate in the Netflix Cup with Gasly in the driver’s seat of the cart, the golfer managed to hold on to his love for the motorsport and claim another chance for himself.

The 26-year-old withdrew from the tournament at the eleventh hour over health concerns. But another pro golfer became the knight in shining armor for Gasly’s team.

Owing to back problems that arose during his workout at the gym, Morikawa was forced to pull out of the event leading to none other than Tony Finau taking his place at the same. He was supposed to pair up with Gasly against the likes of team Alex Albon, from Williams Racing, and Max Homa.

However, the F1 X Golf collab saw another team lift the trophy as Carlos Sainz and Justin Thomas beat the last-minute pair of Finau and Gasly. Thomas was able to hit a magnificent shot as the ball came to rest five yards from the par-3 hole during the closest-to-the-pin playoff final.
