One day after the news of the LIV Golf and PGA Tour alliance was announced, a PGA player’s meeting was held to address the elephant in the room. As players were discussing and wrapping their heads around this sudden decision imposed on them out of the blue, reportedly things got wild between Rory McIlroy and Grayson Murray.
Rory McIlroy proved to be a man of his word as he did not change his statements against LIV Golf following the billion dollar merger declared yesterday. Moreover, during the meeting, McIlroy came to his team’s frontman Jay Monahan’s defense when Grayson put some dark allegations against Jay.

Despite reminding everyone of his previous dislike of LIV Golf, McIlroy had PGA commissioner Jay Monahan’s back when Murray yelled at him “We don’t trust you, Jay! You lied to our face,” According to the Telegraph Rory was quick to jump in Jay’s defense and advised Murray to rather improve his game. “Just play better, Grayson”, he said. The world 227th-ranked was surprised by this reaction from Rory and told him to “f— off.”
The news was first confirmed by Golf Channel. Then later it was also reported by CBS’s Kyle Porter on Twitter as well.

Though he has strong feelings against this merger, Rory is enduring the news by seeing it in a different light. For him, this is more of an association between the DP World Tour, PGA Tour, and Public Investment Fund (PIF). He is not bothered much about LIV Golf’s inclusion.

Regardless, this matter was later resolved between the two PGA Tour players who were later seen to be laughing and chatting after the meeting. It is evident that both forgave each other for the things said in the heat of the moment.
Confirmed. They were cordial and pleasant post meeting. We chatted as a group of players and we were laughing about the comment. No beef or hard feelings either way
