It’s safe to say that it was Nelly Korda’s year and no one was surprised when she won the 2024 Rolex Player of the Year award after the season had concluded. But there is another list that she has become a part of just as the year is coming to a close. Interestingly, fellow pro golfer and PGA Tour pro; Jason Day was included in that list.
We are talking about the end-of-the-year post by Korn Ferry Tour player, Ryan Ruffels. Brother to Korda’s fellow LPGA golfer, Gabriela Ruffels, Ryan shared a slideshow of images on his Instagram a few hours ago.

Nelly Korda vs. Ryan Ruffels
No, we’re not talking about the 2024 Grant Thornton Invitational. Nelly Korda had joined Ryan Ruffels; who is also a content creator, on his namesake YouTube channel. The video was titled ‘Nelly Korda vs Ryan Ruffels’ as the duo squared off at the Sara Bay Country Club. They played a ‘Modified Worst Ball’ where the worst drive off the tee from both the pros is played forward by them individually to see who can bag the lowest score.
The video was shot a while after Nelly Korda had bagged a record-setting 5 wins in a row in May 2024. After 9 holes, Nelly Korda picked up the win with a par score as Ruffels ended it with 2-over. The challenge received a lot of views, with nearly 200k golf enthusiasts dropping by to watch the world no. 1 bag her 6th unofficial win in a row. Throughout the video, Ryan Ruffels and Nelly Korda showed great chemistry, which justified the Korn Ferry Tour pro’s statement in the opening minutes about them being ‘good friends.’
