“The greatest thing about tomorrow is, I will be better than I am today. And that’s how I look at my life.” The quote of Tiger Woods is indeed true for his life, with his exceptional story-worthy career. With each performance at the course, Woods has laid a strong foundation for his performance resulting in the most wins, i.e., 82, including 15 at major tournaments.
Every fellow professional has a story to share with the legendary golfer. This time, Tripp Isenhour took on X to share a detailed story about the professional’s mentality. Most of the golfers agree with Woods’ mentality and strong work ethic. Even the story shared by the fellow golfer goes on to prove the same during his prime years.
Starting the long story thread, the American professional and Golf Channel Analyst wrote “Quick story about how Tiger Woods thought during his prime and why he was so much better than everyone else…” In continuation, he shared his experience of hitting balls next to Tiger Woods at Torrey Pines, where he saw how the 15-time major champion was struggling with his driver. More shocking were the hits after the driver switched. As he wrote, “He hit the ball straight up over the nets that border the range on both sides (they are. very high). I would have had to hit at least a 9 iron to clear the net like he did.” The ball curving into the middle even surprised Isenhour as he complimented Woods saying, “Geez Tiger you planning on starting a trick shot show.”
Replying to which Woods said, “If this is where I am going to be tomorrow, then I might need these shots.” While concluding the story Isenhour shared with this situation, other players might have left the course worried about the technique and final round. But “not the GOAT!”

Tiger Woods is the most decorated player in the history of the sport. Even fellow professionals would agree with that, as they have witnessed him closely. Jordan Spieth, who has shared the course with the 15-time major winner, shared during the No Laying Up Podcast. He shared his memory of playing with Woods from the time he was struggling in his career, i.e., 2015-16 frame. Even though the American professional was having a tough time, Spieth shared about his mentality, which made him different from others.
He said, “He’s the only person I’ve played with that I can say that about, including myself. I just thought that was so intriguing that I’ve never heard him say one negative thing about himself. And he clearly, he’s human — as much as we kind of don’t believe that — but in his head, he’s probably thinking ‘Man, I can’t chip right now,’ or whatever, but he’ll never say it out loud. And he’ll never let it take over him at all at any period of time.”
Even further, Hank Haney also shared one memory of his from the 2010 Masters final round. He shared how Woods’ mindset was different at the event being the prestigious one. He said, “Taking too little time between swings, barely watching where the balls go, sometimes even taking one hand off the club before completing his follow-through.”
