With his absolutely eye-catching attire, the 2-time major champion, John Daly, will be playing at the Open Championship in a matter of days. He won the event back in 1995 at St. Andrews. The golfer is now returning to Scotland but he will not be playing only at the Troon. The other scheduled one is the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship. It will be held on the greens of Trump International Links in Aberdeenshire.

The 58-year-old golfer has played on several of Trump’s golf courses. He also has some strong opinions about them to impart. Let us look at what Daly has to say about Trump’s dedication to his golf courses.

In an interview with the Press and Journal, John Daly revealed his event schedule in Scotland. He mentioned that he will be present at the Legends Tour’s Staysure PGA Seniors Championship. He reported, “I’m excited to see Trump Aberdeen. I’m playing in the tournament because everything Trump does is first-class when it comes to golf. His courses are just immaculate.”

The golfer also revealed a list of Trump courses where he has played so far. This list includes the Trump National Doral Golf Club, located in Miami. He played there last year at the Trump Touring Pro Weekend 2023. He has also been to Trump International Golf Club, West Palm Beach, and Trump National Golf Club, Jupiter, so far. However, the golfer did not have a chance to show up at Trump Turnberry or the Trump National Golf Club in Los Angeles. Talking about the Turnberry, he said, “I want to play Turnberry as Tom Watson said it would be one of the best British Opens of all time, if not the best, if they went back there.”

Previously, the golfer spoke with much excitement about how thrilled he is to join Trump’s golf course in Aberdeenshire. He was noted to say, “I can’t wait to get out to Trump Scotland. I’ve been a part of the Trump Golf family for years, and the Trump Organization knows how to build the best golf courses. “

Daly has high expectations after hearing from people who have played in Trump Scotland. Hence, last month, he said, “I haven’t had the chance to play Trump Scotland yet, but if it’s anything like the other Trump courses, and just knowing it’s ranked as one of the top golf courses in the world, I am sure I’ll be blown away.”

As much as Daly loves Trump’s golf course, the 2-time Major Championship winner also has a high opinion about his golfing skills as well.

What is Daly’s verdict on Trump’s game?

In 2016, Daly talked without a filter about Trump’s golf skills on the Rich Eisen Show. When asked how good Trump’s golf game is, the 1995 Open Champion announced, “He hits it good. He is a decent player.” Daly further suggested how Trump would always finish his holes and meticulously write down scores. But the golfer has also projected one particular aspect about Trump: his chipping game.

In an interview with Tucker Carlson last year, Daly claimed that Trump needs to work on his chipping game a bit. He said, “He got to work with his chipping a little bit but he hits it good, he putts it good. We just got to work on his chipping.”

The 58-year-old further gave detailed guidance that he thinks Trump should follow. Daly thus broke down the tips by saying, “I keep telling him, we got to move the ball up. Everybody thinks, when you chip you got to move it back. But actually need to move it up a little bit. If I don’t see him for a while, he goes back to that bad habit again.”
