John Daly shares an iconic story about Arnold Palmer
Following Palmer’s unfortunate passing away in 2016, Rock Bottom Golf asked Daly to share a memory.
Knowing Daly, the PGA Tour icon did not disappoint. Not only is it hilarious, but it also manages to make everyone miss Palmer. “My favorite story about Arnold Palmer would be (that) one time we’re at Bay Hill and I’m playing with him on the 10th hole,” Daly said. “And he asked me and Kenny Perry that, ‘you all ever heard about this blue pill called Viagra?'”
Of course, this elicited a laugh from Daly and Perry, who had certainly heard about Viagra before. Palmer, however, admitted to taking it so he does not fall out of his bed.
Daly added that he surely has a lot more stories about Palmer, but this one seems to be his favorite. He continues to miss him and stated everyone loved Palmer dearly. “He was the greatest ambassador for the game of golf. Rest in peace Arnie, we love you. We miss you”.

Did Daly and Palmer played together?
The golf course Daly has referred to in the video is most likely the Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club & Lodge. Located in Florida, the private club and hotel are host to the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Looking back, Palmer’s 62 PGA titles are worthy of various honors. Out of those, 29 were from 1960 to 1963, which were probably his most dominant years. Nicknamed ‘The King’, courtesy of his skill and charm, Palmer’s popularity remains almost unrivaled.
