The premier Aramco Saudi Ladies International will take place this weekend in the Middle East. Expectedly, the game’s leading ladies will compete for the lucrative event, which has seen a surge in its prize money. But before heading onto the weekend, a usual Pro-Am event finds a place on the calendar. Gracing the event is one of the game’s present-day greats, Lexi Thompson, who shared a glimpse of her proceedings with one of her counterparts, Lydia Ko.

Lydia Ko appears in Lexi Thompson’s latest Instagram post

Having shattered records for years on the tour, Thompson has already amassed a huge fanbase on the internet. Indeed, she has more than 500,000 followers on the popular social media app Instagram, where she occasionally posts her happenings in life.

Her recent post included a group picture, presumably, at the Royal Greens Golf & Country Club in King Abdullah Economic City in Saudi Arabia. In the photo, she is seen posing alongside some men but flanked by none other than two-time major championship winner, Lydia Ko.

The photo was met with much aplomb by netizens, who celebrated spotting their favorite golf stars in the same frame. A user commented, “Most excellent photo” to show his appreciation for the post, while others were in awe of the assembled team-up.

“How’s that for a Pro-Am team,” a user commented under Thompson’s post, while others were more straightforward. “@lexi & @lydsko make for the best pairing indeed,” a user said. “I am soooo envious of those gents. @lexi AND @lydsko make up half of my perfect 4-ball,” said another.

Are Lexi Thompson and Lydia Ko playing at the Aramco Saudi Ladies International?

It’s been a while since we saw Thompson lifting titles on the tour. The talented golfer was agonizingly close to adding victories in the last season but finished runners-up thrice. But having gone through a prolonged break, she would be hoping to turn a corner this year.

But for Lydia Ko, 2022 turned out to be a fruitful year. Not only did she end the year as the World No. 1, the 25-year-old managed to be on top of the leaderboards in prize money winnings. She also enters the year as a married woman, having tied the knot in South Korea at the end of December last year.
