Feelings about LIV Golf have always been a topic of discussion. While initially, the majority of the golf world wasn’t on the same page as the Saudi-funded Tour, things have been different in recent weeks. Following the conclusion of its Singapore event, golf fans on Twitter discuss how the breakaway Tour is no more seeking survival but instead is here to stay.
From its initiation last year, LIV CEO Greg Norman has started the Tour’s motto was to ‘grow the game’ internationally. As the lucrative Tour began its second season, 3 out of its 5 events have been held outside of the United States. And fortunately for Norman and his Tour, fans have finally shown the Breakaway Tour a green flag.

LIV stars Brooks Koepka and Phil Mickelson gave the fans four rounds of exciting golf at the 2023 Masters. Both golfers shared the runners-up spot while Jon Rahm claimed his maiden Green Jacket. Nonetheless, Koepka and Mickelson’s performance was well-received by the fans as they applauded the golfers.
After another successful event in Singapore, LIV have had a very strong start to the season and momentum is clearly building. It feels like time to stop arguing it’s right to exist, accept it’s here to stay, and try to find ways to make the best of the opportunity it presents.…

The momentum continued on LIV Golf’s side after a loud and incredible fan-engaged tournament in Adelaide concluded last week. Taylor Gooch, who won the Australian event, claimed another victory in Singapore’s Sentosa Golf Club this past weekend. While the golfer received praise from many fans, a notable Twitter account named, ‘Flushing It’, expressed admiration for the Saudi-funded Tour.
“LIV have had a very strong start to the season and momentum is clearly building”, wrote the Twitter account with nearly 30k followers. It further claimed that it’s time to stop arguing about the newly founded Tour’s right to exist and start accepting it since ‘it’s here to stay‘. The tweet ended by sending a message to the golf world to “start coming together now for the benefit of the sport and it’s fans”.
Though most tweets of the Flushing It does side with LIV Golf, it does have a valid point. After all, the account is followed by the Tour’s biggest star Phil Mickelson. Whether the account made a valid point or a controversial take, the golf world had its say.
Golf world reacts to the positive take on LIV
While the Twitter account sympathized with the lucrative Tour, fans on Twitter had mixed reactions. Some questioned its success, while one fan suggested the fans ‘embrace’ the golf league.
It is fashionable to be outraged. LIV is a different vibe, embrace it!

Some groups of fans even had suggestions for the management. Unlike most professional golf tournaments with 72 holes, the LIV Golf events compete with a 54-hole par. One fan was clearly not a fan of that while another user stated the Tour isn’t ‘sustainable’.
54 holes is poor though
72 and I think a few more people would have a different view of it

The business model is not sustainable. No TV money, no sponsorships, limited fields. Definitely a market for it in countries that don’t get good quality tournaments. But Not sure what happens when the Saudis get bored with it?

One suggestion, have the last day as a shotgun still but put the leaders off the 1st so they finish on 18. (If this already happens, my bad, I have watched but have just found it hard to gauge whart is happening)

Like it’s earlier times, some fans continued displaying their outrage at the Saudi-funded Tour.
Economist, professor and author Steve Levitt said LIV Golf “will not survive 'more than a couple of years.
