Xander Schauffele seemed to launch a new brand at the U.S. Open. The 2024 PGA Championship winner, along with the Descente logo, also sported a mysterious XS logo on his clothes. The logo is an X with the ‘S’ etched inside the letter.
However, it bears an uncanny similarity to the X logo. This is why, more than his chances of winning two back-to-back majors, his newly launched icon has taken center stage. The two letters, presumably, stand for his initials.
Notably, the icon on his official website looks a little different. The one-time major winner has yet to spill the beans on his personal brand. There haven’t been reports of him collaborating with a different company to start his own line of products.

Interestingly, Schauffele also faced criticism for ‘mashing’ the green with his putter. Coupled with on-course troubles, the San Diego State alum is now faced with a bizarre controversy. Whatever his plans are netizens believe he must answer Elon Musk before moving ahead. Some of them view this as a clear case of copyright infringement.
Fans question Xander Schauffele’s strange decision
Many on the Internet spotted the apparent similarity with the X logo. From a distance, the black and white logo bears a strange similarity with the social media channel’s icon. And, fans think Elon Musk will not take it very kindly. Ryan French, who runs the handle, MondayQInfo tweeted, “I think Elon is calling his lawyer.”
Notably, lawsuits for logos in golf aren’t uncommon. Phil Mickelson’s HyFlyers GC is facing a copyright infringement lawsuit from Cool Brands Supply for allegedly ripping off their Fallen Footwear logo.

Interestingly, the SpaceX founder sued an Indian battery manufacturer, Tesla Power, last month for allegedly using Telsa’s brand name to market its products. The internet believes a similar fate might await the 2024 PGA Championship winner. “Elon will sue him,” wrote one user. Another quipped referring to a famous Nirvana song, “Smells like trademark infringement.”
One of them also added very thoughtfully that Xander Schauffele might have a hard time justifying the brand logo. “Considering his name is Alexander I think he might be in trouble.” The 2024 PGA Championship winner’s real name is Alexander Victor Schauffele.

Notably, Schauffele has been linked with LIV Golf since Jon Rahm’s departure last year. The eight-time PGA Tour winner himself has debunked the rumors. Most recently, his father also ruled out any possibility of him joining the PIF-funded side. That, of course, didn’t stop fans from dragging LIV into the picture. “Its his new LIV team logo,” one user quipped.
Xander Schauffele suddenly finds himself in the thick of it all courtesy of the logo. The PGA Tour pro has switched to Descente earlier this year. There is no clear indication of whether Schauffele’s personal brand will have some tie-up with his apparel sponsor.
