Allisen Corpuz took the golfing world by storm on Sunday when she won the US Women’s Open at Pebble Beach. Leaving her mark with her win, the LPGA star has been somewhat of a phenomenon since then. However, post-win, something went wrong, and had it not been for Elon Musk’s brainchild, the one-time major winner’s win memory may have been tainted!

This week, once again, Allison is ready to try to prove her metal at the Dana Open. However, she can’t help but remember how the billionaire’s $862.07 billion venture came to her rescue just hours after she lifted her first major trophy.

After making a tremendous achievement last week, Allisen is ready for another round at the green for this week’s Dana Open in Sylvania, Ohio. And at the event’s press conference, Corpuz revealed a small anecdote of the after-hours of victory and how Elon Musk’s beloved Tesla came to her aid when she found herself in trouble.

Corpuz claimed that she had a hotel booked by San Jose Airport for Sunday night. But of course, after her win, plans changed! Seeing as she was crowned the victor, Pebble Beach treated Corpuz and her family to a night’s stay at The Lodge, and hence they spent the night there.

In the morning, the LPGA star had a connecting flight to Sylvania. After what was undoubtedly an eventful night, early the next morning the golf pro called for an Uber XL for her and her family at around 2 a.m. to go to the airport to catch their connecting flight to Sylvania. However, there were no cars available on the app, and neither was anything available on the Lyft app!

With almost certain trouble brewing, only one option remained: “We were like, okay, let’s try a smaller car, and hopefully everything fits,” said Corpuz, narrating the story. Hence, the family opted for a smaller Uber. “We got a Tesla. Luckily there is that little front trunk, so we utilized all the space,” she stated, recalling her relief.

Had it not been for Musk’s $862.07 billion Tesla that day, perhaps the LPGA star would never have gotten to the Airport on time. Fortunately, it all worked out, and the night after her remarkable win at Pebble Beach became just as memorable as the day!

The LPGA star’s historic win at the US Women’s Open

Last weekend, the Hawaiin golfer definitely registered her name in the pages of history when she grabbed a stunning win at the US Women’s Open. Corpuz bested top-class players like Nelly Korda, Rose Zhang, and Lydia Ko to win her maiden major title and first victory on the LPGA Tour.

During the final round, she birdied the first hole and then went on to birdie five more during the 18 holes. Corpuz ended her fourth round at 3-under par and three strokes ahead of Charley Hull and Jiyai Shin to claim her first win and walk away with a whopping $2 million and the shining silver trophy.

She will undeniably be looking to double down on her Tour wins this week at The Dana Open at the Highland Meadows Golf Club in Sylvania, Ohio. And perhaps she can cash in on her hot streak and take home the major chunk of the $1.75 million purse on Sunday.
