DJ said that he will be resigning from the PGA Tour and will continue to play the LIV Golf Invitational Series. He has now joined the list of Kevin Na, Sergio Garcia, Louis Oosthuizen, and others who have resigned from the PGA Tour. “I have resigned my membership from the tour. I am gonna play here (LIV Golf) for now,” revealed Dustin.

Talking about the consequences, DJ said that he doesn’t know how the PGA Tour will react to this whole controversy. Therefore, for now, he believes he should compete in the Saudi-backed LIV Golf Invitational Series.

Earlier today, Phil Mickelson announced that he will be competing in the inaugural event of the LIV Golf Invitational Series. However, he did not exactly say anything about resigning from the PGA Tour. So far, Dustin Johnson, Kevin Na, Branden Grace, Charl Schwartzel, Louis Oosthuizen, and Sergio Garcia have given up their PGA Tour memberships.

Will Dustin Johnson compete in the major championships?

Dustin Johnson said that he wants to compete in major championships. “I mean, I can’t answer for the majors. But you know, hopefully, they are going to allow us to play. Obviously, I am exempt to play for the majors, so I am playing there unless I hear otherwise,” said DJ.

When asked about the threat of losing the spot in the Ryder Cup and the Presidents Cup, DJ said that all things are subject to change. Dustin also said that he hopes things will change at some point and they will be able to participate in the biennial event. However, Johnson also said that he doesn’t make the rules. So he isn’t sure what lies ahead for him about majors and the Ryder Cup.
