Dustin Johnson is known to be a renowned golfer in the world of sports. The golfer, despite moving to LIV Golf, has continued his top-quality golf form in the breakaway Tour. However, apart from golf, Johnson also has a soft spot for fishing in his heart. Ahead of the LIV Golf Chicago Invitational, DJ was asked who would he choose between a fishing pole and his wife Paulina Gretzky on a stranded island. The golfer handled the question with a perfect response.

The 38-year-old golfer has shown his love for fishing several times in the past. He shares his big fish catches on his Instagram page. He even gets appreciation from his father-in-law. Many believe he loves fishing more than the sport of golf.

Johnson inherited the passion for fishing from his grandfather and father during his South Carolina youth. However, he married the love of his life Paulina Gretzky, who is the daughter of NHL legend Wayne Gretzky, earlier this year. So who does the golfer choose on a stranded island?

Whom did Dustin Johnson choose between wife and fishing?

Ahead of the LIV Golf Chicago Invitational, Johnson was asked various questions in the press conference. Most questions emphasized the tournament and the lucrative series. However, one question asked by a reporter caught DJ off guard.

The reporter asked, “As an avid fisherman, I always wanted to ask you, if you were stranded on a island the rest of your life, would you rather take your fishing pole or Paulina if you had one choice?” An interesting question, many in the room awaited Johnson’s reply. He did give the reporter a perfect 5-word response.

“I can’t answer that question”, replied Dustin Johnson. Instead of answering the question, the golfer completely rejected it, as he was trying to play it safe. Undoubtedly, the 2 time Major winner loves his wife, but it also depicts the equal amount of love he has for fishing.

Returning from a maiden LIV Golf win in Boston, Johnson is seeking a back-to-back win at Rich Harvest Farms in Chicago. Considering his recent run of form, he might as well claim another $4 million with a win. But the question is, what gives DJ more joy? A win at LIV Golf or offshore fishing?
