Tiger Woods has been an idol for many young golf fans over the years. Having debuted in 1996 and showing a glimpse of greatness within the initial years of his professional career, the children who once looked up to Woods have now turned into his competitors. Bryson DeChambeau is one of them. We take a look back at when DeChambeau was paired with Tiger for the first time and could not contain his excitement.
During the 2018 Dell Technologies Challenge, Bryson DeChambeau was paired with Tiger Woods in the third round. The Scientist began chirping in the ear of the 15-time Major winner the moment they walked off the first tee box.

DeChambeau is known for being a sociable person. So one could imagine how much the 29-year-old would have opened up when he met his idol, Tiger Woods.
Bryson DeChambeau picks his opportunity to talk to Tiger Woods
Throughout the round, both men were seen continuously chatting. However, DeChambeau revealed that he picked his spots when to stir a conversation with the 15-time Major winner. In the third round at TPC Boston, Woods scored a 3-under 68. Nonetheless, he was no match for DeChambeau who finished with an 8-under 63. He scored an eagle and two birdies to finish the round.
Though both men had played several practice rounds together before the tournament, the feeling of being paired together during a tournament was still surreal. “It’s always fun picking his brain a little bit,” said Bryon DeChambeau after the round. “Every once in a while he tells me, ‘Dude, what are you doing?’ I’m just like, ‘I’m trying to get better, man.’ ”

And DeChambeau did get better. The Scientist went on to win the Dell Technologies Challenge with a total score of -16. Maybe the pep talk from Tiger Woods did come in handy for Bryson DeChambeau. Both men have shared a great relationship over the years. However, following DeChambeau’s recent move to LIV Golf, Tiger has reportedly stopped talking to the 2020 US Open winner.
Woods’ disappointment with the Scientist is understandable, as he has been staunchly loyal to the PGA Tour and also been a critic of the Saudi-funded Tour. Nonetheless, DeChambeau has expressed his respect for the Hall of Famer despite the lack of conversation.
