One has to be living under the rock to look past the countless sports documentaries that have been released. From Michael Jordan to Tiger Woods, many greats and their stories have been immortalized on the screen. The reception has mostly been great, as viewers often enjoy a glimpse into a celebrity’s life. The most recent addition to this list should be the PGA Tour, ready for an exciting documentary.

PGA Tour has a new tie-up with Netflix for an amazing documentary
Now, Netflix’s documentary won’t just cover the tour, but also on all the major championships that they will work with. The crew will have access to event venues, and also focus on some other events apart from The Masters, The Open Championship, the US Open, and the PGA Championship. Players included in the documentary will be shown as they are, the project looking to make the audience understands how their life worked.
“This partnership with Netflix presents the PGA TOUR and the four major championships an opportunity to tap into a completely new and diverse audience,” said Rick Anderson, PGA TOUR’s Chief Media Officer. “This documentary will give fans an authentic look into the real lives of our athletes, and what it’s like to win — and lose — during a season on the PGA TOUR.”
Here’s a list of players who will be part of the aforementioned project:
- Abraham Ancer
- Daniel Berger
- Cameron Champ

Other details about the project:
- Vox Media Studios (Explained) and Box To Box Films (Formula 1: Drive to Survive) – Producers
- David Check (30 for 30, Four Days in October); Chad Mumm and Mark Olsen for Vox Media Studios; and James Gay-Rees and Paul Martin for Box to Box Films – Executive Producers
Netflix also opened up about their point of view, mostly just ‘thrilled’ about the ‘first-of-its-kind’ project. “Our members will love getting to know the players and personalities as well as the iconic venues along the way. Even the most devoted golf fans have never seen the sport quite like this,” said Netflix’s Vice President of Unscripted and Documentary Series Brandon Riegg.
Filming will take place this year.
