The ninth event on the 2023–24 DP World Tour Calendar is halfway through. The Ras Al Khaimah Championship kicked off on the 24th of January at the Al Hamra GC and would see its finale dawn soon on the 28th, Monday. Well, many of the eyes in the golfing world would be on the trophy and the title that the athletes would enjoy, and justifiably so!
However, is it all that they are offering to the champion? Not even close. They would also be able to take home a winner’s cut from the total prize money. Interestingly, looking at the rewards does give us an idea as to why such a field has teed it off at the event.

The 2024 Ras Al Khaimah Championship would provide a substantial payout to the athlete who beats the whole field, along with the title and the trophy. The professionals would be looking to take home a cut of the $2.5 million prize purse, out of which $425,000 belongs to the champion—an increase in the prize money from the $2 million that was given out last year.

The field of the Ras Al Khaimah Championship
A total of 132 golfers started to duke it out at the Al Hamra Golf Course in the UAE. However, after two days of play, only 78 golfers could make the cut for Moving Day. Nevertheless, it appears the final two rounds are set up for a magnificent display of golf with a powerful field including the likes of Eddie Pepperell, Rasmus Hojgaard, Padraig Harrington, and Thorbjorn Olesen.
Although Daniel Gavins won the last edition of the tournament, he missed the cut following a score of 78-74 over the two days of play at the par-72 course. Currently, Manuel Elvira and Hojgaard are leading the scoreboard at a total of 14 under as Friday came to an end.
