Is every golfer’s biggest enemy back to ruin the 2024 Genesis Scottish Open? Well, the enemy might be an overstatement, but the way it has been this year with the persistent weather issues, it really is not! The weather curse proved itself to be legit after multiple PGA Tour events’ round cancellations, delays, and tournaments being cut short. The long-awaited PGA Tour and DP World Tour’s collaborative tournament is set to take off on July 11, and fans are excited to see Rory McIlroy defend his title. As a fan, you would expect everything to happen smoothly, but would that be the case? The weather reports say otherwise. With a high of 15 degrees Celsius and a low of 9 degrees Celsius, the first round could see potentially unforgivable weather making its way to the game.

With 30% precipitation chances, scattered light showers and drizzle will be expected throughout the day on Thursday, according to the European Tour website. The wind will be moderate, blowing at 8–12 mph. With these minimal winds, the trajectory of the ball will remain proper and not cause much trouble for the pros.

With morning clouds giving way to partly sunny skies and comforting warm weather, Friday’s round is expected to be a more pleasant day. Temperatures will be slightly cooler, ranging from 10°C to 17°C, making it an ideal environment for golfers to showcase their skills. A moderate wind will be blowing at a speed of 10–15 mph.
