With a prize purse in the millions and an opportunity to win a total of 3,000 Race to Dubai points, the Dubai Invitational 2024 becomes an important tournament for the famous DPWT pros. What’s more interesting is that out of a prize purse of $2.5 million, the winner’s share will amount to $425000, not the standard 16.67 percent payout according to the European Tour’s prize money distribution chart.
The runner-up will earn a sum of $275,000, whereas the second runner-up will earn $158,000. The DP World Tour is certainly serious when it comes to money going into the 2024 season. This is not all, though. This tournament will also inaugurate the International Swing.
It will be the first of the seven scheduled events of this section across Asia and Africa between now and March. The winner of the International Swing will earn an additional total of $200,000. Apart from monetary gains, there are important perks and benefits, especially for the winner.
The winner gets approximately 20 Official World Golf Ranking points, with the points available based on field strength. The first position at the invitational has other big benefits, including a two-plus season exemption on the European Tour, as well as berths into other key events.
Moreover, 335 DP World Tour points, with the player holding the most season-long Race to Dubai points at the end of the tournament winning the Race to Dubai and its first-place prize. The top eight players in the Race to Dubai standings after the season will be paid from the Race to Dubai bonus pool of $6 million.
All in all, it is safe to say that the jam-packed event spanning January 11 to January 14 at the start of 2024 has more than one incentive to look forward to. But what is the exact prize money breakdown?
How will the prize money be distributed?
As is well known, out of the $2.5 million prize purse, the top three players will grab the biggest shares; however, the incentives are not limited to the top scores. In fact, it accommodates the top 60 players by giving them some part of the prize money total and being mindful of their incentivization as well.
