Similar to the PGA Tour, the race to keep the Tour card alive is getting heated on the other side of the pond. The DP World Tour will stop in South Korea this week for the Genesis Championship. While undoubtedly the Zozo Championship will take the spotlight, the DP World Tour event doesn’t have anything less at stake.

It’s the last event before the Wenthworth-HQ tour leaves for Dubai for its final two events. Only the top 114 players will retain their DP World Tour card. And, for these five names, Genesis Championship is much more than the $4M purse.

Currently, he is 110th, but the Race to Dubai rankings are tight. A few missed cuts or a bottom-rung finish in the leaderboard will kick him out of the top 114. The Austrian has teed off in two PGA Tour events this year, missing the cut in both. In his last five appearances, Schwab booked the weekend spot only once. The Andalucia Masters was a better display from the 33-year-old (T36).

Marcel Schneider

Schneider is coming off a T12 at the Andalucia Masters. However, before that, the German pro missed six consecutive cuts. Schneider’s form has been erratic this season. After his T3 at the ISPS Handa Championship, the 34-year-old failed to break inside the top 50 for three consecutive tournaments, missing the cut in two. Between June and Augusta, Schneider also missed four consecutive cuts. Currently, the German golfer is sitting at 111th.

Freddy Schott

Schott was a standout performer of the DP World Tour Qualifying School last year, having earned his card after a hard-fought battle. The 23-year-old German has netted five top-20 finishes this season. Currently, he is the bubble boy sitting at 114th in the Race to Dubai rankings. After two top-20 finishes last month, Schott couldn’t keep the momentum at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, having missed the cut. He has, however, bettered that with a T28 at the Andalucia Masters.

Adri Arnaus

The one-time DP World Tour winner is currently 123rd in the Race to Dubai ranking. In his last five starts, only once has the Spaniard broken inside the top 30, missing the cut twice. Only three events remain for Arnus to better his status from 123rd to 114th. In his last start at the Andalucia Masters, the Spanish International carded four identical rounds of 71 to finish T57.

The two-time DP World Tour winner has fallen out of favor with Golf Gods in recent years. The Englishman is 124th in the Race to Dubai rankings, having missed three cuts in his last five starts. Pepperell’s best performance has been a T12 at the BMW PGA Championship in September.

Aside from them, Wu Ashun, Marco Penge, and Santiago Tarrio are some of the players who will swing on both sides of the cut mark, i.e., 114th in the Race to Dubai Rankings. Interestingly, Tom Kim is also teeing up at the Jack Nicklaus Country Club. Of course, for him, it’s only a home tournament.
