While opening up about his story to media, he said, “I really don’t know where my head is. It’s the only thing that has mattered to me for 20 years. You all know that. But when you feel like things change, you might feel a little differently.” According to an article by Golf Magic, Talking about Ryder Cup, Poulter said, “I would love to qualify. Whether I play or not would be a different thing. I haven’t given up on anything. If I win these two weeks, who knows?”

He has also been a key contributor to Europe’s recent successes, including the 2012 “Miracle at Medinah,” where Europe came back from a 10-6 deficit to win the tournament. “I’m going to take some time to think about it,” Poulter said. “I want to be sure that I’m making the right decision, both for myself and for the team. I want to be able to compete at my best and give it my all, and I’m not sure I’m in that place right now. But I’m not going to rule anything out just yet.
