On the eve of the DP World Tour in Dubai, the European Tour Chief Executive Keith Pelley conferred Collin Morikawa with the membership. This came after the 24-year-old won the Open Championship this year, that too in his first attempt. Moreover, he won the PGA Championship last year in the same fashion.

With this, Morikawa became the 57th player and also the fifth American to achieve this feat. He joined legends like Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson, and Patrick Reed.
Speaking on his incredible achievement, he said, “Two and a half years ago when I turned pro, I had no clue what life was going to put in front of me, but I’m very thankful for what I’ve been able to accomplish. Obviously the world has gone through many changes, but this means a lot and I have to say thanks to the European Tour.”
