The Leopard Creek Country Club in Mpumalanga, South Africa, is hosting the 2022 Alfred Dunhill Championship from December 8 to 11. The tournament is an official co-sanctioned Order of Merit event on the DP World Tour and Sunshine Tour.
It will be the third event being held in South Africa and the sixth event of the 2023 season on the DP World Tour. It will also be the first time the Tour will conduct the tournament since 2020, after being canceled for the last two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Hence, the competition will be fierce this year.

The total purse of the 72-hole tournament is €1.5 million. Notably, the winner will receive a massive 17% of it as prize money, whereas the rest of the players will get only 11% or less, according to their rankings.
156 players are playing at the Leopard Creek Country Club this week. And like any other Dp World Tour event, a cut is made after the first 36 holes of the game. Nonetheless, only the players who finish all four rounds can win a part of the total purse.
Top players playing on the DP World Tour co-sanctioned event
The PGA Tour has banned the LIV Golf players from attending its events and its co-sanctioned events. However, the DP World Tour has no such restrictions. Hence, many players like the South Africans Louis Oosthuizen and Branden Grace are part of the Alfred Dunhill Championship field.

Moreover, players like David Ravetto, MJ Daffue, and Dean Burmester are all playing this week to claim the title too.
