Brooks Koepka is one of the names that is trending currently in the men’s golf circuit, and why wouldn’t he trend? After all, he is the only LIV golfer in the American squad, one of the six picks made by captain Zach Johnson. Brooksie very much earned his seat thanks largely to his winning performance at the 2023 PGA Championship. 

It’s said that in every golfer’s success, there is an on-course friend who plays a massive role. In Koepka’s case, his caddie is his best on-course friend. Now, this bosom friend has made a candid admission about the LIV defector.

Brooks Koepka’s long-time caddie makes an unhesitant disclosure

Brooks Koepka is having a successful year so far with a major win in his bag, and now his name has been confirmed for the US Ryder Cup Team. Koepka’s pillar of support for more than a decade is none other than his caddie, Ricky Elliott.

Ricky and Brooks go back a long way. They even played golf together in South Florida. But both chose different paths in their professional journey. The 33-year-old turned professional golfer in 2012, and Elliott became his bagman a year later. Since then, the duo has been together at all the events. 

Recently, the Ireland-based caddie participated in an interview where he shed light on their relationship. He admitted, “We’re very close, yeah, we’re best mates really… Caddying for somebody for so long. He’s a whole lot of different things. He’s not only on the course but off the course and we understand each other so well and he’s been very good to me. He’s been a very easy boss. He doesn’t give me too much hassle on the course. ”

In addition to this, the caddie of the five-time major winner, also said, “I don’t think he understands me all the time which is a good thing”. He is probably suggesting that not being understood at times may have helped Koepka in his game.

Mutual respect between Koepka and his caddie

The pair had their share of ups and downs but both had each other’s back in those moments. In an old interview, the LIV golfer confessed that he is adamant about having Elliott on his bag and that he would not want to replace him for any reason. “I love the guy to death,” he said.
