Every golf fanatic at some point recently would have heard the name, Nelly Korda. The 24-year-old has built quite a reputation on the LPGA Tour and in women’s golf. And fans weren’t the only ones to notice. Huge sponsorship companies noticed Korda’s traction too, and they signed multi-million dollar deals with her in recent times. She is seen endorsing their brands quite often now, and in her most recent video, she did so yet again. But things seem to have gone horribly wrong since Korda publicly had to plead with the fans afterward!

Nelly Korda pleads with her fans

Korda bagged both Nike and TaylorMade as her new sponsors earlier this year. But now promoting their products seems to have backfired on her. She recently appeared in a video for TaylorMade promoting its new Stealth 2 drive.

In the video, she donned a black Nike top and paired it with orange pants and a pair of red Nike Jordan One shoes. But she would soon come to regret that particular wardrobe color mix.

After TaylorMade posted the video, the one-time major winner shared it on her Instagram story. But she surprised the fans with a quick follow-up story right after. One expressing her regret! “Don’t hate me for my Orange pants and red shoes,” she wrote on Instagram. “It was a bit of a wardrobe malfunction.”

Fans took to the comments section of the video, calling the former World No. 1 “Nelly Fowler,” linking her name with Rickie Fowler, who loves being clad in all orange on the course. Another fan wrote, Orange pants with red shoes? Bruh for real?” Korda clearly faced many questions about her choice of pants and shoes for the day. And in retrospect, she certainly wasn’t proud of her bold clothing choice either!

Korda’s new sponsors

2023 began with a blast for Korda. Early in January of this year, she signed a huge apparel deal with Nike. But she wasn’t done. Just a few days after the 8-time LPGA Tour winner announced yet another sponsor she had added to her belt: TaylorMade.

The back-to-back partnership announcements only made her more desirable, and she soon signed with yet another sponsor. Earlier this month, the Olympic gold medalist signed a brand endorsement deal with Goldman Sachs. That’s three sponsors in a span of fewer than three months! It certainly seems like her year of the course has been off to a great start.
