There’s one more thing besides blood that ties Donald Trump and his granddaughter Kai Trump closely together—Golf. While we do not need to reiterate the former POTUS’ endearing affiliation with the game, this time it’s the 17-year-old who’s turned heads with her recent achievements. Recently, Kai Trump’s Instagram recorded an uptick after her school, Benjamin High School secured a victory at the women’s district championship.
The Buccaneers women’s team played the 13-1A Girls team championship hosted at the Trump International West Palm Beach, a course Jai Trump was fairly equipped with, unlike many in her teams. With 28 over 320 in the final event, the Bucs ran away with the victory while the Oxbridge Academy finished runner-up after posting 47 over. Individually, Kai Trump assisted a little for the final score.
Although she tried her best, the 14-year-old finished 6th individually in her team as she carded 11 over 84. The highest scorer from Benjamin High School was Kaitlyn Hummers, who lifted the individual district championship trophy after posting 1 over 74, as the Palm Beach Post reported. With an ordinary score of 84, Kai Trump might be at risk of being benched by the Bucs, just like Charlie Woods was in September. Despite promising results—he finished T2 at the Medalist Tour in March this year, T20 at the SFPGA Labor Day Classic—the 15-year-old won’t be participating at the Golf-Varsity-Boys and Golf-JV-Boys for reasons yet to be unearthed. Will Kai face the same fate as Charlie? Well, only time will tell. For now, though, the teenager is riding on her recent high…

The junior golfer celebrated her recent triumph and wrote in an Instagram post, “District champs!” To give you some background, Kai is Trump’s oldest son, Donald trump Jr and his ex-wife, Vanessa Trump’s daughter. She started playing golf at the age of 2, thanks to her mother, and is currently enrolled in the same school as Charlie Woods.
Notably, Trump’s granddaughter recently gave her verbal commitment to golf for University of Miami. In an Instagram post dated August 18, she announced the exciting news, and wrote: “I would like to thank my mom, Vanessa, and my dad, Don, for always supporting me through my journey. I would also like to thank my great team for getting me to this point. I would like to thank my Grandpa for giving me access to great courses and tremendous support.” Well, Grandpa Trump would definitely be proud, especially after his brutal training tactics to hone Kai’s skills!
In a YouTube video on the budding golfer’s YouTube on July 28, she revealed some funny details from when she goes head-to-head with her grandpa. “Genuinely, he always gives me a run for my money. It’s pretty close…He wins a lot of the time. I do have to say that. I’ve got to get better,” she said and added her the politician always gets in her head. “One time I was not on his team and I had to make this eight-foot birdie putt to win and he’s trying to get in my head like standing right over me, standing next to me. I sunk it and l looked up and go like this [fist pumping] and he started smiling. That was the best moment. When I made that putt, even though he lost, he was so happy and smiling and laughing. That was a pretty special moment, too.”
In fact, Kai Madison also made her political debut at the Republican National Convention on July 17, where she showered heavy praise on her “normal grandpa”. Notably, this was two days after Donald Trump was shot in the ear in an assassination attempt, while speaking at an open-air campaign rally near Butler, Pennsylvania. His oldest granddaughter addressed the situation later, and also revealed how meeting her grandfather at the RNC was an emotional affair. “I was going to say the RNC was pretty special for both of us because it was right after he got shot and I hadn’t seen him since then…That was really special. We both got a bit teary-eyed. I’ll never forget that,” she said in her YouTube video.

Having said that, while Kai Trump could lift the trophy at the Trump National West Palm Beach, was Charlie Woods lucky enough to play and help his team win, too?
Did Charlie Woods’ team clinch the district championship?
It was probably the stress of missing the US Amateur cut or not winning any junior event that Charlie Woods rarely teed up at any junior events. And even his team didn’t choose him to tee up under the Benjamin High School umbrella. But at the District 13-1A District Championship, Woods’s luck worked in his favor. He was no longer benched!

Unsurprisingly, as soon as he hit the course, the 15-year-old showed that he had recovered from his past failures. Like Kai Trump, Woods also finished 6th on the individual leaderboard as his score was 1 over 73, four strokes behind, winner Andrew Tsar, who carded 3 under 69. While the Bucs won the Men’s team championship with 3 over 291 at Champions Club at Summerfield (Stuart) and posted on Instagram saying, “Wasn’t pretty but got the job done at districts. Onto regionals.”
The Oxbridge Academy and Benjamin High School will now advance on to the Region 4-1A Championships at Miami Shores Golf Club on Monday. It remains to be seen if Charlie Woods and Kai Trump will be part of their respective teams and once again, assist the Buccaneers to lift another team trophy. The goal for this time would surely be to lift the individual honors too!
