Every year, we witness golfers come and go, their careers marked by fleeting moments of triumph and heartbreaking setbacks. For Wesley Bryan, a one-time PGA Tour winner, the 2024 season was a rollercoaster ride that ultimately ended in disappointment. The question on everyone’s mind was: did Wesley Bryan manage to retain his PGA Tour card for 2025?
Unfortunately, the answer is no. Wesley Bryan’s struggles on the course led to him narrowly missing the cut at the RSM Classic, the final event of the FedEx Cup Fall season. This setback pushed him down to 127th place in the standings, just shy of the top 125 required to secure a Tour card for 2025. Bryan’s performance at the RSM Classic was a microcosm of his season, marked by flashes of brilliance but ultimately undone by inconsistency.
He carded a 2-under 70 on the Plantation Course in the first round but followed it up with a 3-over 73 on the Seaside Course, missing the cut by a single stroke. Despite this setback, Bryan remains optimistic about his future prospects. As he tweeted, “Unfortunate end to a fantastic ride…. Appreciate y’all’s support! 2024 was amazing to say the least. I cannot thank everyone enough for the encouragement. Now let’s focus on getting George through Q-School!”

By now, it’s clear that Wesley Bryan’s fate was one of the most compelling storylines heading into The RSM Classic, and unfortunately, his struggles in the wind at Sea Island led to a disappointing week as he failed to make the cut. This setback pushed him out of the top 125 in the FedEx Cup standings, putting his PGA Tour card for 2025 in jeopardy.
“I’m pretty much in the same spot I was last year,” Bryan said, reflecting on his situation. One would think that the golfer would lose hope by now. Well, no!
Despite this, Bryan remains optimistic about his future prospects. He’s planning to take a more strategic approach to his schedule next year, seeking sponsor invites and tournaments where he can compete on his own merit. “I want to have a little bit more of a plan in place for next year… I want somewhat of a plan going into it and try and stick to it as best as possible,” he explained.

Bryan also acknowledged that his game has been in a good spot, saying, “Really, my golf game has been in a fantastic spot… I was missing a lot of cuts with what I felt like was a game in the past that would be good enough to compete and contend every single week.” While Bryan’s immediate future may be uncertain, one thing is clear, he’s not giving up.
