Elin Nordegren, the ex-wife of golf legend Tiger Woods, has led a life filled with public exploration and private achievements. Her journey from a model and nanny to a mental health counselor and devoted mother is extraordinary. The Swede first moved to the United States at age 21 to work as a nanny for golfer Jesper Parnevik’s children, where she caught Woods’ eye.

They started dating, and their romance blossomed into a fairy tale marriage, only to crumble in 2009 as Woods allegedly cheated on her. The couple, married in 2004, had two children together: daughter Sam, now 16, and son Charlie, now 15. Years after her split from Woods, Nordegren has not only rebuilt her life but has also expanded her family significantly.

Nordegren began a relationship with retired NFL tight end Jordan Cameron in 2017. Cameron also has a son, Tristan, from a previous relationship in their family union. Apart from Sam and Charlie, she gave birth to three more children.

In June 2019, it was announced that she was expecting her third child, her first with Cameron. She gave birth to their son, Arthur, in October 2019. Three years later, in December 2022, Woods’ ex-wife welcomed another child, a daughter. However, as reported by People, she now is a “mom of six.” This means that together, they have a lively household with six kids, including daughters Zeta, Freya, and Sam, and sons, Arthur, Charlie, and Tristan.

A close friend of the 44-year-old shared, “Elin always wanted a big family and loved the idea of a house filled with kids. She has that now, living her sweetest dream.” Her dream of a large family has come true. While the mother of six has chosen to remain largely out of the public spotlight, she occasionally steps into the glare of cameras to support her children.

Earlier in March 2024, she and Woods attended a significant event. Where Charlie received his state championship ring after his North Palm Beach, Florida school won the Class 1A golf title. A source close to the family has stated, “They’re friends now. Everything that happened in the past is in the past. They both decided to be adults and to do what was best for the kids. So they get along well.” Nordegren and Woods have, thus, developed a harmonious co-parenting relationship over the years.

How Elin Nordegren’s journey shaped her career in mental health counseling

Despite the chaotic dynamics that came with such a bustling household, Nordegren has seamlessly balanced her professional life as a mental health counselor with her role as a mother. Her journey from heartbreak to happiness is a testament to her dedication to her family.

After her divorce from Tiger Woods, she dedicated herself to her studies and earned a degree in psychology from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida in 2014. This academic pursuit was more than just a career change. It was a personal mission to turn her adversities into strengths. As her friend recalls her positive side, “Elin’s ability to connect with people on a deep level is rooted in her own journey. She understands the complexities of mental health because she has lived through them.”

Some reports had revealed that she worked as a mental health counselor. Unfortunately, her business license was dissolved by authorities in September 2021 after she failed to submit her annual report for the year. But this does not keep her from doing what she dreamt of, “a big and beautiful family” which she has been cherishing since.
