In recent days, most PGA Tour defectors seem to have been spending more time in courts than on the courses. Patrick Reed, who joined the LIV Golf from its second event in Portland, has become another defector to sue a golf media entity for a 9-figure amount. The world of golf shared their thoughts on the news, including the most popular golf media star, Paige Spiranac.
Reed has always been surrounded by several allegations since his college days. The golfer has constantly been a victim of online hatred for his cheating accusations. Though the golfer has defended himself verbally several times in the past, he decided to seek justice for himself through the judiciary system.

Unlike most stars whose contract with LIV Golf was made public, Reed’s earning amount from the lucrative Tour was not disclosed. It was only reported that he had signed for a multi-million dollar deal. However, the 32-year-old is set to bag a 9-figure amount if he manages to win the court case.

Reed has filed a $750m defamation lawsuit against Golf Channel and commentator Brandel Chamblee. The civil suit was filed in Texas earlier this week. According to reports, it alleges that Chamblee and the cable network conspired with the PGA Tour and commissioner Jay Monahan to defame Reed “since he was 23 years old”.

With a case with such a gigantic amount at stake, Patrick Reed appointed 71-year-old Larry Klayman. The infamous attorney has been suspended of his law licence in the past and is banned from appearing in two courtrooms. A few months ago, the lawyer cited his support for Brandon Chamblee who supported Patrick Cantlay for deciding to ditch the LIV Golf to remain a PGA Tour member.
That’s his lawyer?! He attacks me all the time😂 does this mean I’m going to be sued next…

However, both parties who were on the same side once, will be on opposite sides in the upcoming days in the court. Dylan Deither of Golf Magazine recognized the swift change in character and decided to tweet. He wrote, “Patrick Reed’s lawyer seems to have changed his opinion on Brandel and LIV in the last 6 months.”

Paige Spiranac acknowledges Larry Klayman as she comically tweeted, “That’s his lawyer?! He attacks me all the time does this mean I’m going to be sued next…”. Considering the recent court activities of LIV Golf players, it wouldn’t be much of a shocker if the social media star does get taken to the court.
However, Spiranac has been a victim of criticism from famous entities over the years. Though she has cited her struggles with online bullying and facing trolls in the past, Spiranac has eventually become tough in the face of such adversities. This has led her in becoming the most famous golf personality on social media.
