In late 2023, Højgaard secured his spot on the 2024 PGA Tour by earning a PGA Tour card after winning the DP World Tour Championship and racking up amazing non-member FedEx Cup points.
However, his twin brother Rasmus fell gut-wrenchingly short. “I really wanted him to get that card. He was in a great position. He’s playing good golf. It came down to a crazy scenario in the end”, said the golfer on his twin brother’s loss, per BBC. Højgaard’s tour card also came with an amazing invitation to the 2024 Masters Tournament, where the golfer took the 16th spot with a score of 2 over par.

Rasmus Højgaard’s exciting victory at the Amgen Irish Open has positioned him to join his twin brother on the PGA Tour in 2025. While it’s still a long shot the twin brothers are excited for this. “Last year was a bit of a — that was hard. But yeah, it made me more motivated to get it this year”, Højgaard said.
He secured his win by birdying his last three holes after edging out Rory McIlroy by one shot at Royal County Down and jumping to No. 1 in the Race to Dubai Rankings. The golfer is now well-placed to secure a PGA Tour membership for 2025, which is awarded to the top 10 in the Race to Dubai Rankings. He’s focused on achieving his goal, “It’s been my biggest goal for this season”.
