Scottie Scheffler’s Valhalla ordeal has finally come to an end! All the charges against Scottie Scheffler have finally been dropped! Out of the four charges, one of them was ‘second-degree assault of a police officer.’ However, the absence of the body cam footage and the video, which was later released by the police department, helped in contesting the charges put on Scheffler. Steve Romines spoke to the media after the dismissal of the charges and spoke about Scottie Scheffler’s innocence. “It’s obvious he didn’t do anything wrong. And as I’ve said repeatedly, the more evidence that comes out, the more it shows that, you know, Scottie was a victim here.”
A few hours ago, Ward Jolles, a reporter from Wave News, shared an update on the statement released by Bryan Gillis, which was later shared by Kyle Porter on X (formerly Twitter). While the entire letter efficiently spoke about how Scheffler’s case had finally been resolved, it had a rather bizarre PS attached at the bottom.
According to Officer Bryan Gillis, apart from the injury he sustained, his pants were also ruined during the whole incident. Gills chose to bring up the pants issue at the very end of his statement and stated, “PS… Yes, the department has us buying freaking $80 pants. To those concerned, they were indeed ruined. But Scottie, it’s all good. I never would’ve guessed I’d have the most famous pair of pants in the country for a few weeks because of this. Take care and be safe. Bryan”

While according to Kyle Porter, the PS section was ‘incredible’, for a lot of the golf fans, it was a rather hilarious one. For a situation as serious as this one, as per the community, he could have gone for a better verse.
The Golf Community states that ‘drive safe’ would have been a better PS
According to the initial report, Scheffler failed to comply with the traffic rules. Bryan Gillis spoke about how he was dragged by the car. However, the testimonies of the eyewitness and camera footage helped in clearing out Scheffler’s name, and golf fans believe that driving safely should always be a priority. Thus one golf fan came up with a suggestion for Gillis’s concluding statement: “That would have been so much better if it was “Drive Safe”.
The report also stated that Detective Bryan Gillis sustained swelling, and abrasions to his left and he had to be taken to the hospital to get himself treated. However, given that there was no clear evidence of it, one of the followers, pretty much with the tone of mockery, as it seems, sarcastically commented, “You can’t convince me that nobody at that hospital knew how to do stitches. Those pants could have been saved.”

Amid all the chaos, Scottie Scheffler chose the high road and handled the whole situation with immense composure and poise. The PGA Tour pro chose to refer to the whole incident as a big misunderstanding. He chose to speak highly of the officers involved and even offered his condolences to the victim of the fatal accident that took place near the Valhalla Golf Course prior to his arrest. The fans rallied in support of World No. 1 and stated, “The p.s. proves Scottie was right the entire time.” and “At least Scottie was an adult here….what a childish reply.”
Another fan humorously enquired whether Gillis’ pants have GoFundMe, which allows people to raise money for occurrences that require challenging circumstances like accidents and illnesses, and simply commented, “Do the pants have a GoFund me yet? If not, that’s the real crime.”
One fan had a rather hilarious suggestion for Officer Gillis: “Malbon needs to send him a couple of pairs of their baggy pants.” The apparel brand caught the eye of golf fans for its fashion and design and the baggy pants happen to be at the top of the list. Just ask Jason Day!
