After being in the dark for way too long and still not getting any update on the situation, the patience of PGA Tour players finals broke and they openly expressed their criticism of Monahan and accused him of betraying them.
And now joining the list is PGA Tour veteran and former World no.1 golfer, Ernie Els. Ernie is currently competing at the Open Championship but when the opportunity presented itself he said some very sharp words against Monahan.

Els further accused Jay of going rogue and acting on his own without consulting the players which ultimately is affecting the game.
He continued, “Talk to us, tell us what you’re going to do, plan on negotiating. Don’t just go rogue as a member of the board and come back with a deal and think we’re all going to say yes. You’re affecting people’s lives. You’re affecting the professional game. It’s just so bad.”
During his prime years, Ernie and his golf buddies led the tour for many years and brought many laurels. However, right now he is completely dissatisfied with the way the tour body is handling things.
