Ted Scott's fury over Meredith Scheffler insult—are fans crossing the line?

The 2024 Presidents Cup has indeed been pretty chaotic. Adding to the list of drama was the one that was caused by a fan. While Scottie Scheffler was minding his game statistics, one fan shouted derogatory comments.

These were not just passing comments; he specifically directed them towards his wife. Now, with Ted Scott as his looper, the World No. 1 golfer has not only gained an old-time friend but also an incredibly protective family member. When he heard the fan yell such a comment, he was left furious. More than Scheffler. He ended up screaming at the fan, not from the course, but by jumping and going behind the ropes.

A staff writer from the Athletic Gaby Herzig reported it and wrote, “A fan just yelled a derogatory comment at Scottie Scheffler about Meredith Scheffler and Ted Scott stormed outside the ropes to scream at him,” on her X account. Later on, he also confirmed that Scheffler’s father had made sure that the security pulled out the fan and did not let him sit through the rest of the match. Gabby Herzig took to her official X account and reported, Scottie’s dad confirmed to me that the fan was removed by security”.
