There is no golf fan in the world who is not aware of the feud between the Saudi-funded league and the prestigious PGA Tour. Many renowned golfers such as Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia, Patrick Reed, Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson, and Cameron Smith have left the PGA Tour to play for LIV Golf. It is argued that the main reason why these players switched to LIV Golf is money and a better and less hectic schedule. The PGA Tour has also banned the LIV Golf defectors indefinitely from playing in its tournaments. In a recent episode of The Bunkered Golf Podcast, DP World Tour Chief, Keith Pelley made some very interesting remarks about the players joining LIV Golf.

Keith Pelley recently made an appearance on The Bunkered Golf Podcast where he was asked about his if there are any actions on the table for players who may quit the DP World Tour and play for LIV Golf. The example of the PGA Tour was quoted for highlighting the kind of actions being asked about.

Commenting on the approach opted by DP World Tour, Pelley said that theirs is different from the PGA Tour one, “I think we’ve been pretty consistent with our approach. And that has never been our approach, our approach has been different than the PGA Tour.” He also mentioned how the DP Word Tour is analyzing different players in different tours based on their rules and regulations.
“It’s important to understand that whatever decision that we make, the players will still be able, the LIV players will still be able to play”, said Pelley highlighting the fact that DP World Tour will allow LIV Golfers to play. The chief also spoke that joining the Saudi League would solely be the players’ choice and staying on DP World Tour would also be the players’ choice. “It is their choice, it was their choice to go play on LIV. And it will be their choice, whether they decide they want to continue in play on the DP World Tour.”
Pelley also spoke that the players will have plenty of opportunities to play golf. Keith Pelley assured that players will get better treatment as compared to what the other players have gotten who have left the PGA Tour for LIV Golf.

He also mentioned that along with the opportunities, there will be some consequences as well that will be decided in the coming weeks. “There will be consequences, what those will be we will determine in the coming weeks, and we really endeavor to do it as quickly as possible.”
He also said that there are always consequences when rules and regulations are broken. “It is you know when you break rules and regulations that are administered, and, and put in place by our members for our members, then there are consequences.”
