However, for those who are late to the show, the Saudi-backed league superstar Tyrrell Hatton has won the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and has secured his position at the top of the leaderboard. Well, to be precise the golfer has taken home 37.88577 OWGR points, as per the official OWGR website.
This achievement is 17.41% of the total points, which was 217.62349 and these points were distributed among the top 60 golfers. And to no one’s surprise Hatton’s first position earned him the maximum ranking points available. Hatton’s victory breakdown has earned him more than just the points. Aside from the 37.88577 points, the golfer has also won a prize purse of $850,000 after claiming first place. But wait, there’s more, he has also taken home a total of 5000 Race to Dubai points.

But to make matters even better, the athlete will receive 1500 Ryder Cup points as he is a European. Fans are extremely happy for the golfer and why wouldn’t they be, this feat is only one of his own. You will be surprised to know that the golfer was already sure of winning during the tournament.

Tyrrell Hatton says he is ‘capable of winning’
During the tournament, Tyrrell Hatton reflected on his previous performance. He acknowledged that achieving his goals was exactly what he had hoped for at the start of the week. “This is the third time I’ve played with my dad in this event. We had not made the cut until now in the team event. I’m sure he’s excited for tomorrow, although a bit scared, and he’ll be pretty tired, I’m sure”, he said. The golfer won the same event in 2016 and 2017 and was looking forward to winning this one as well and it is pretty safe to say that he made his wish come true.

Hatton also recognized the physical demands of the four-round tournament, especially for his dad. However, he was looking forward to giving it his best shot and he was sure he could do it. “Four rounds of golf in four days is a lot of work, especially for my dad. So yeah, it will be fun.
