Only a day ago, Woods got called out for his declining physique at the Open Championship’s press conference. He looked extremely leaner. However, things get even messier with a sudden comment from one of the announcers. Yes. A live announcement, that is causing havoc among the Tiger Woods fans. Why? the golfer was just called out to be intoxicated with painkillers.

Matt Fitzgerald of the Whiskey Riff called the announcer unprofessional for the statement he made. People could see the camera focused on Woods, when the announcer uttered, “You look at the eyes, you gotta think there’s a lot of painkillers being taken. Not easy.” Whether Tiger Woods has truly taken the painkillers is not known at the moment.

But that is not a thing that can be ignored at the moment as the golfer could be going through pain in his legs, or back, the two of his most troublesome areas. However, it is not taking painkillers that is enraging the fans, it is such a public comment that is throwing mud at the Golf GOAT.

“Dude. Hit the cough button next time. You shouldn’t be speculating on the 🐐.” Said another fan. The commentator was heavily criticized for not being able to articulate his speculations in a much more modest and calm manner. And although a great many fans were losing hope in Woods’s play, they all united to appreciate that no matter what, an announcer should not call out Woods. After all, the 82x PGA Tour winner is still a GOAT.

Someone else said, “This is crazy disrespectful.” Because of his long-term injuries, the golfer had to depend on medication so much. The agent of Excel Sports Management, Mark Steinberg, once stated how difficult it had been for the 15-time Major winner. He remarked, “He’s been in just immense pain for so very long that taking prescribed medication was a must, just to be able to get up and move.” Given such a background where the fan-favorite golfer had to seek the help of rehab, a passing comment on one of his previous issues was taken with a grain of salt by the fans.

Yet another fan commented, “It’s really hard to play golf on heavy painkillers. so I doubt he’s currently on something while playing outside of Advil or Tylenol. Afterward, who knows? It’s a dark path to go down, so I hope not.” Tiger Woods had already commented on his latest approach to training at the press conference the day before. And the fans are willing to accept that the painkillers taken on the day of the event might not be ideal.

His overall health had been improving, as he stated after the US Open; hence, one might also assume that Woods might not be taking painkillers at the moment. The community further wishes that even if the golfer is not taking any at the moment, he should not repeat history by depending on them again, even if the medicine in context is Advil, an analgesic pain relief, or a non-opioid analgesic.
