The 2022 Masters tournament begins on April 7th and will go up till April 10th. The event will see various golf professionals battle it out for the green jacket on Sunday at Augusta National. Moreover, Rickie Fowler is among the professionals looking for his first major championship win. But is he playing at the 2022 Masters?

Has Rickie Fowler qualified for the 2022 Masters?
Professional golfers have a wide array of criteria to make it to the Masters. The different standards help professionals receive an invitation to the Augusta National Golf Club for the 2022 Masters. Despite these criteria, some of the big names in golf did not manage to cement their spot at the 2022 Masters.
Rickie Fowler is the biggest upset in the list of professionals not featuring at the 2022 Masters. The five-time PGA Tour winner is not having a good time out on the course. His best finish of the 2022 PGA Tour season came at the Honda Classic, where he finished at tied 42nd position.
Fowler has three top 10 finishes at the Masters and even finished as the runner-up to Patrick Reed at the 2018 Masters. As of March 27th, he is in the 130th position in the Official World Golf Rankings. And as a result, he did not manage to get an invitation for the 2022 Masters.
Other big names missing from the 2022 Masters also include Ian Poulter, the iceman Henrik Stenson, Jason Day, Martin Kaymar, and Matt Kuchar.
How can professionals qualify for the Masters tournament?

Professionals have a lot of criteria through which they can receive that magical invite from Augusta National. The past champions get a lifetime exception to play at the Masters. The US Open Champions get an honorary non-competing after five years and the same for the British Open champions and the PGA Championship.
First, 12 players and ties in the previous year’s Masters also get a chance to play at the event, with the first four players and ties in the previous year’s US Open, PGA Championship, and the Open Championship also qualifying for the Masters.

Winners of the PGA Tour events that help gain points for the year-end Tour Championship, from the previous year’s Masters to the current year’s Masters also have eligibility. Not to forget, the top 50 in the Official World Golf Rankings from the previous year, as well as, the top 50 in the OWGR prior to the Masters week qualify for the Masters.
