Is embracing baldness like Tiger Woods the ultimate power move, or is Streelman's choice more relatable?

Two-time PGA Tour winner Kevin Streelman has had a prolific golf career. But how did he end up choosing golf? There can be many reasons, the obvious reason being his interest in the sport. But there is another reason that might surprise you. If you have observed closely, Streelman never likes to take off his cap for the post-round handshake. But why is that so? Well, the pro golfer has an insecurity that is quite a common one among men. “I started losing my hair when I was about 18 years old, so playing a sport that requires a ball cap was just fine with me. I could cover up my receding hairline,” said Streelman. The golfer has given a reason for many as to why someone can take up the sport!

Rather than letting insecurities hold him back, Streelman took control of his appearance and decided to restore his hairline. Thankfully, he got the perfect advice from the NFL Player, Brian Urlacher, who introduced Streelman to RESTORE. Seeing the impressive result in Brain and other sports stars like Ryne Sandberg, Streelman was curious to try the product himself. “I had no idea a hair procedure would be this easy or comfortable,” he said. But what exactly did this confidence-boosting procedure involve?”

When nature reaches its limits, science steps in to take over. For Kevin Streelman, this was exactly the case. With his newly done hair transplant, the golfer is undoubtedly on cloud nine. Though he claims that the procedure was comfortable, the specifics can be complex. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, “It may take up to two years before you see the final result with a full transplant series.” A person who undergoes such surgery is even advised to take several surgical sessions after the main procedure is done, to attain desirable results.

To be frequently under the spotlight, anyone would start to feel conscious about their appearance. But after this surgery, the golfer has become much more confident in the public eye, as he claims, “Winning on the TOUR takes confidence. This new hairline has boosted my confidence in my appearance and in my game. And I definitely don’t mind that post-game handshake anymore!”

While this transformation is a big add-on to Streelman’s personality, not all golfers view appearance as a setback to their confidence. Legendary golfer Tiger Woods, for example, never underwent any treatment, despite his noticeable hair loss.

Many men commonly experience classic male pattern baldness, and Woods is no exception. However, it doesn’t seem to bother him. The former world no.1 has often faced questions about whether he would ever opt for a hair transplant, but he seems perfectly fine with his natural appearance.

Previously when the 48-year-old was asked about growing older, he said, “I’m comfortable with it – my hairline’s not! I have a nice skylight (at home) and, if I don’t wear a hat, I can feel the heat.”

Like Kevin Streelman, Woods often wears a hat, but for him, it’s to shield against the scorching heat, not to hide any insecurity. The formidable player has always performed at his highest level, and his impeccable skills don’t allow him to falter due to any other factor.

While Streelman and Woods have different ways to handle confidence, their passion for the sport remains unwavering. Which approach would you relate to more? Let us know in the comments!
