Joaquin Niemann has been incredibly consistent all through 2024. The Chilean finished 2nd on this season’s LIV Golf player leaderboard a sliver away from Jon Rahm. He has also given some high-octane performances outside of LIV Golf.
He ended the 2024 DP World Tour Championship in 7th place and also grabbed a 5th place finish at the ISPS Handa Australian Open just a few days ago. More recently, Joaquin Niemann won the 2024 Saudi International beating fellow LIV Golf pros Cameron Smith and Caleb Surratt.
It’s safe to say that the 26-year-old has proven why he was awarded a LIV Golf contract a couple of years ago. But has his recent achievements also booked him a place in the 2025 Masters Tournament?

Unfortunately, winning the 2024 Saudi International tournament does not warrant Niemann a spot at the Augusta National Golf Course. Apart from the prize money, the Asian Tour event only awards OWGR points that might help the 2022 Genesis Invitational winner rise up on the table.
Before the tournament began, Joaquin Niemann was placed at the 124th rank on the world golf ranking board. He had accumulated 43.59 points in the 40 events he had played. Niemann’s victory at the Asian Tour tournament has awarded him about 21.31. @VC606 has confirmed that he has since moved up to 73 on the OWGR table.

To earn an automatic qualification for the 2025 Masters Tournament, Joaquin Niemann needed to finish within the top 50 ranks. So for now, the Torque GC pro does not have a place in the green jacket event. But all hope is not lost for the Chile national.
Can Joaquin Niemann still make it to the 2025 Masters Tournament?
Well, he can. As per the qualification regulations of the Augusta Nationals event, players who have reached the top 50 on the OWGR a week before the beginning of the tournament can also be exempt. So while his efforts at the Saudi International 2024 may not have helped him rise high enough, he can still bank other other DP World Tour events next year to win a place. His best opportunity will come at the 2025 Hero Dubai Desert Classic. The star-studded event guarantees to be action-packed as the best from the European circuit battle it out for vital points. Niemann will be joined by the likes of Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy, and 111 other pros on the Emirates Golf Club.

Another channel through which Joaquin Niemann can enter the 2025 Masters is something he would be familiar with. The event officials invited the LIV Golf pro to the tournament in 2024. The Masters Tournament committee sends an invitation to individuals who have shown exemplary performance in the previous season. This falls under the Special exemption list that does not warrant any rankings or tournament victories.
