The weekend’s PGA Tour event, the Genesis Open, carries a lot more weight than usual. Indeed, the return of the prodigal son, Tiger Woods, has been keenly awaited for several months. But while he has confidently proclaimed his comeback to be a victorious one, the reality of it seems in doubt. One of the crucial reasons is because of Woods’ injury and concerns with his right leg, with the latest news confirming that the legend is still limping.
Tiger Woods seen limping after Pro-Am event
The legendary golfer took part in some Pro-Am tourneys ahead of the weekend’s games, which provided an indication of the legend’s current game. But according to golf journalist Dan Rapaport, Woods was seen limping at the dinner later on that day.

His sources? A couple of unnamed players, who are set to take the field with Woods at the Riviera Golf Course. The acclaimed journalist also expressed his sorrow about the legend’s condition in his tweet.
Had two players reach out to say Tiger was walking with a pretty significant limp through player dining after yesterday’s pro-am. Granted, it was freezing cold, but just a reminder of how much pain he has to endure to play a simple round of golf. It makes me sad.

Fans were quick to offer their support to the legendary golfer. Here’s a selection of those tweets:
47yr olds that never had any surgeries would be limping after that round wtf do people expect

Please can someone suggest the cart to him lol. It's a completely different situation to John Daly, no need to suffer like this.

Looking like his leg has just reached it’s maximum healing ceiling. Very sad as I was very optimistic when he was able to play Augusta last year. Leg just has not gotten much stronger

Been 2 years. He’s done healing. This is it.
And it’s not good.

My expectations have not faltered. He is our rock, our savior, our king.

I’m hearing Tiger got his swagger back.

If anyone can do it… Tiger can! LETS GO!

Time to get that man a golf cart exemption
— Kevin Avery (@KevnAvery) February 16, 2023
I don’t t think you know for sure he’s in pain. He basically destroyed that leg. He may just walk with a limp for the rest of his life.
— Jared Reynolds (@ja67red) February 16, 2023
He should get a cart so that he's on equal footing with the rest of the field. I'm positive that the viewing public wants to see the best that Tiger can be.

Is Woods ready to take part in the PGA Tour?
The golf legend has worked his way back after suffering from near-fatal injuries in a car accident in February 2021. He suffered significant injuries to his tibia and fibula bones, which sidelined him for months.
But by his own admission, Woods recuperated from his injury earlier than expected. However, he could only participate in the major championships in 2022 barring the U.S. Open, where he wasn’t able to challenge for the title.
But in December last year, fans got to see Woods in action at various competitions. It rekindled hopes of Woods’ comeback heading into the 2023 season, which also features the biennial Ryder Cup.
The Genesis Open marks Woods’ first start on the tour this season. Earlier this week, he was seen practicing in harsh conditions in a clip posted by the PGA Tour. Some keen-eyed observers were on point when they noticed something strange in Woods’ walk, while others had put it down to sub-par temperatures.
