Jon Rahm, who is still basking in that winner glow, also revealed that he was of no use on Monday as he had no idea that the celebrations would go on for such a long period of time. “The last 72 hours . . . well, Monday I was extremely tired. The leader of the first round at Harbour Town Golf Link was Viktor Hovland who also played at the Augusta. Rahm sat eight shots behind Hovland. During his pre-tournament conference, Rahm shared about being fatigued and tired, “I hate to make excuses, but a couple of the swings towards the end were my body being tired and surprised me.”
The play was suspended on Thursday because of rain and Rahm was glad that he did not have to finish the round on Friday. “I think for the most part I did a pretty good job. With the rain and all, it could have been a lot worse, been very ugly.
