Despite several attempts, Mickelson was unable to gain his fans’ love after his LIV Golf decision. But now, the golf legend has taken a different approach to making his mark on the game once again.

For that, of course, Lefty has been slogging to make sure he aces all his skills on the course. His hard work is showing on the course too, especially with his stunning performance that surprised the fans at LIV’s Golf Singapore event. And now, it looks like the player is doubling down on his hot streak and readying himself for yet another huge title.

After Mickelson’s massive Masters’ finish, golf fans are excited to watch him play another major tournament. And with the PGA Championship coming up, the golf legend seems to be in just the right place. As seen on freelance golf photographer Matt Hahn’s Instagram story, Mickelson is currently practicing his spectacular swings at Oak Hill Country Club, a.k.a., the home of the 2023 PGA Championship. With the tournament scheduled to begin on May 18th, it is about time that the golfer started to polish his skills for the title.

However, seeing him at the New York course comes as a surprise too! That is because LIV Golf’s $25 million Tulsa event begins this week on May 12th. And instead of being at Cedar Ridge Country Club, the golfer is practicing his shots at the PGA Championship venue. It’s more than clear that he has the bigger event on his mind!

Are LIV Golf players allowed at the PGA Championship?

Initially, the PGA Tour banned all LIV Golf defectors from participating in any of their tournaments. However, since a lot of talented players had shifted to the Saudi-backed league, the majors decided that it was in the best interest of the quality of the field to allow the players that jumped ship to compete.

Nonetheless, the golfers will only appear at major tournaments, and that too, only if they meet the qualification criteria. As of now, Phil Mickelson is one of these LIV Golf qualifiers eligible to participate in the PGA Championship. And with his all-new set of skills, it will be interesting to see him in action at the prestigious event!
