When PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan stated that the PGA Tour and LIV Golf would soon join under a new organization, LIV Golf gave the most enthusiastic response to the surprising announcement. While many major PGA Tour players, like Tiger Woods, were unaware of the merging of their league before it was made public, many LIV golfers applauded the news on social media. The deal worth around $3,000,000,000, was peaceful.

Phil Mickelson, who is one of the biggest supporters of LIV golf, couldn’t help himself and tweeted, “Awesome day today.” It seems like his party days are over, as he is facing deep trouble. Let’s find out!

Phil Mickelson is the captain of HyFlyers GC. Including him, the team also has James Piot, Brendan Steele, and Cameron Tringale. They have a logo that seems pretty similar to that of Cool Brands Supply, a corporation in Argentina. Because of the obvious resemblance between the logos, Cool Brand Supply decided to sue the Lefty’s teams.

Nuclr Golf, a very notable golf-related account, shared the news on its official Twitter account. The post was captioned with: “LIV Golf’s HyFlyers GC are being sued in New Jersey Court for trademark infringement. The lawsuit, filed by Cool Brands Supply alleges that their logo, which has been in use since 2003 by one of their popular skate brands has been ripped off.”

According to Cool Brands Supply, the company has been selling footwear and clothing with its trademark logo since 2003. Additionally, they claimed that HyFlyers GC was using a similar logo on its merchandise, such as sweatshirts and shirts. When Mickelson finished second at the Masters Tournament in April, he too sported the same logo. He wore the logo once more during the PGA Championship competition. The image and sales of Cool Brands Sully are being impacted by this.

The issue Mickelson is currently dealing with is not the only one. The PGA Tour recently confirmed something that could cause him serious problems. Let’s find out!

A big issue for LIV golfers amid the massive merger

The PGA Tour promptly suspended LIV golfers once they joined the Saudi-sponsored circuit and quit the PGA Tour. As a result, the PGA Tour was sued for antitrust violations by 11 LIV golfers. Several golfers, including Phil Mickelson, Ian Poulter, and Bryson DeChambeau, sued the PGA Tour. But later on, they all withdrew their names from the case against the PGA Tour.

The PGA Tour is still hesitant to pardon its golfers, despite the announcement of the merger with LIV Golf. It plans to sanction individuals who filed a lawsuit against the organization and those who persuaded other players to leave with them. Nuclr Golf announced the information on its Twitter page.
