John Daly embodies the spirit of a free bird. The ‘Wild Thing’ of golf has been known for his non-traditional way of living. Time and again he has pleased fans with his unconventional methods and occasionally sweet gestures as well.

Despite his prevailing health issues, Daly took the decision to play at the ongoing 151st Open Championship. And while at it, Daly did something sweet for a young fan which is being highly praised by the golf community.

Daly is one of the most beloved golfers. His fans adore him and he gave them a sweet surprise by playing at the British Open despite his knee troubling him. Last year in the month of December, Daly got his knee surgery done which he had been postponing for some time. And surely it has left an effect. Daly has complained about his knees swelling up after 10 to 11 holes following the surgery. As a result, this year he only played in a handful of PGA Tour events, and on the Senior Tour only nine times. Seeing him at Royal Liverpool this week is a big treat for his fans who have been long waiting for this occasion. And while there, he made a young fan’s day.

The Bad Boy of Golf showed his sweet side to a young fan today on the grounds of the Open. When a young lad approached him on the green to get his autograph, Daly greeted him with, ”How are you doing buddy?”. The fan then gave Daly a few flags and a golf ball sign and he obliged. The boy then quickly ran away after thanking John and he sweetly replied “You got it.” The young boy then filled with immense happiness ran towards the rope to show off the flags and the ball. The sweet video was shared by PGA Tour Champions on their Instagram page.

In the caption they wrote “Day made for this young fan”. And from his happiness, it was evident that it was one of the best days of the young fan’s life. The clip also made the day of Daly’s internet fans who praised him for his kind gesture.
