This week proved to be very monetarily beneficial for Rory McIlroy. The third team of his new co-founded league, TGL, found its buyer in the face of Arthur Blank, who is the CEO of Home Depot and has a net worth of $7 billion. The deal brought him yet another powerful partner to rely on for his new technology-infused golf league. But not all went well this week in his life as he stands to lose one of his prestigious titles.

McIlroy is among the selected few who have cleared both rounds of the FedEx Playoffs. The events have been tough but the Irishman has been displaying some impressive putts and strokes on the green. However, this week could turn out to be the hardest for him. In the very important week of the FedEx finale, McIlroy ended up facing some big health issues.

McIlroy is among the top contenders to claim a win this week at East Lake Golf Course. His three-time victory at the event makes him a fan favorite for the event. But this year something unfortunate has happened.

An unexpected health scare has fallen on McIlroy. Earlier this week while he was at home, Rory injured his lower back. Today he arrived at the East course course and got some treatment after which he hit 20 balls but had to head back for more treatment.

The update was shared by Golf Channel’s Todd Lewis on Twitter (now X).

According to sources he will try his best to play at the Tour’s season finale and will begin three shots behind points leader Scheffler.

With such critical health conditions, McIlroy will find it tough to operate on the ground since he requires regular medical attention. What does this mean for the fans who are hoping to see him make his fourth victory at the coveted event?

McIlroy enjoys the rare privilege of being a three-time Tour Championship winner. His first win came in 2016 where in a playoff with Kevin Chappell, he won with birdie on fourth extra hole. The second time he won the tournament was in 2019, when he won 4 strokes over Xander Schauffele. And his latest win came in 2022.

Last year he fell 11 shots in the first round behind starting strokes leader Scottie Scheffler, but soon reclaimed land. He made a one-stroke victory over Scheffler and Im Sung Jae and took the trophy home.

However, his chances for this year seem bleak. But three rounds still remain, maybe McIlroy could show a better performance if his health allows him. No official statements have been made from his side yet.
