The Aramco Team Series in London has been a much-awaited event on the Ladies European Tour. Many top golfers are competing this week and giving it everything they’ve got. However, hurdles don’t always present themselves in the form of competitors.
The 72-par event hosted at the Laguna National Golf Resort Club in Singapore has already witnessed tremendous performance from the golfers despite some unfavorable circumstances. LPGA golfer Nelly Korda, is particularly thrilled by the outcome.

The 24-year-old golfer hasn’t been having the best time this season. After missing the cut at the Cognizant Founders Cup and the KPMG Women’s Open Championship, she finished in T64 at the US Women’s Open. But the American golfer remained resilient and moved on to the LET. And boy is she glad she did!
As luck would have it, at the Aramco team Series, the weather was awful enough to suspend gameplay for an hour and a half. Several pro golfers fell victim to the untimely wind, and many of them missed the cut. The ones who did make it into the third and fourth rounds were still having a hard time.
Amidst all the uncertainty and critical weather, Nelly Korda rose like a phoenix from her ashes. The team captain had a spectacular round in the back 9 and finished with 69 after round 2. She was already 5-under par at the end of round 1, which put her in a neat lead with 9-under par.
“It was probably the most brutal weather I’ve played in a really long time,” she exclaimed as reported by The Irish Golfer. She was also thrilled by her own performance. “I actually had a lot of fun out there. The weather may have not been too great, but I think when you are playing well in these rounds, you get to use a little bit more creativity and a different type of game. It’s a lot of fun.”
Needless to say, if Korda was doubting her capabilities in the light of the past three tournaments, she is feeling very confident now. Playing in those weather conditions is like sailing through the Atlantic in a storm. But she still did a fantastic job, at least at an individual level. Enough to raise her spirits and keep fighting to the top.
Her team may or may not make it

Although the women’s Olympic contestant did very well, the same cannot be said of her teammates in Team Korda. The four-person team that consists of the Team Captain, Fuenfstueck, Al Subaey, and Prat is in 9th place with 18-under par. During Round 1 itself, they fell behind. However, in round 2, they were able to bridge the gap with their cohorts to a large extent.
Now with 18-under par in total and Nelly Korda’s renewed confidence, the team still has a chance to make it to the top. Georgia Hall who is leading Team Hall in first position with 24-under par is sporting a gap of 6 shots. If Korda continues to perform against hail and high water through the next two rounds, she certainly stands a chance for the title this season. If not, she is still in a great position as compared to Pebble Beach.
