Each player has a mantra in their respective sport. Something they believe in and something that keeps them motivated and ready to face challenges. Taylor Moore is one such player with a mantra. Something that helps him stay consistent in his PGA Tour career so far.

Moore, who triumphed at the $8,100,000 Valspar Championship at the Copperhead Course, Florida in March, continues to showcase his skills at the ongoing Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit. He and the young and up-and-coming Peter Kuest are co-leading the leaderboard after the first round.

But what is that motto that keeps Moore calm and consistent?

Top-notch motto for Moore

During the Flash Interview on Thursday at the $8,800,000 event, he was asked about his thought process moving forward in a tournament. In his calm and collected demeanor, he said: “We just got a ton of golf to be played, you know. I’m just gonna get a bit more and try to go execute the best I can, and whatever happens, happens.”

This mantra has proven to be very helpful as Moore continues to go from strength to strength. In his early days as a golfer, he won the Saguaro Amateur in 2014. In 2016, he turned Pro and proceeded to progress through the PGA development tours.

Shortly after turning professional, he attended the PGA Tour Canada, where he had one victory in the Staal Foundation Open. He has also participated on the Korn Ferry Tour.

Rocket Mortgage Classic Round 1 for Moore and Kuest

Moore is currently using that mantra in the Rocket Mortgage Classic at Detroit Rock City. But he is not the only one who has caught the eye in the tournament. Peter Kuest is another golfer who has had a great round and is currenly co-leading with Moore.

Kuest emerged as the frontrunner at the Rocket Mortgage Classic after an impressive 8-under 64 in the opening round. Taylor Moore joined him at the top spot, matching 25-year-old Kuest’s stellar performance, scoring five birdies on the back nine.

Watching his opening day success, fans and experts have their eyes on the young professional. But Kuest knows it’s just the first round and that he has a long, long way to go. After all there is many a slip between the cup and the lip.
